Director for Administrative Services position announcement:
The Institute for Physical Science and Technology is seeking a Director for Administrative Services who would be responsible for the day-to-day management of all aspects of the Institute, an experimental and theoretical research facility in the College of Computer, Mathematical and Natural Sciences.
Director oversees the development and management of all budgets for both state and sponsored programs. The Administrative Director manages and monitors office, research labs and computer labs in three buildings and works with College and University facilities personnel on renovation and maintenance issues as well as periodic space reallocations.
The Administrator works with the Institute Director, Associate Director, College and University Administrators, faculty and other departments on initiatives and projects that advance the mission of the Institute and the University, attends meetings and workshops on campus that involve the university policy and procedures that impact the Institute. Makes twice yearly presentations to the IPST faculty assembly on the status of the Institutes funds and any new or changing campus policy and procedures. The Administrator of IPST has to complete various reports and forms for college and university activities.
Minimum qualifications: Bachelor's degree required. Experience in an academic institution with particular emphasis on managing experimental and theoretical research program. Knowledge of UM business systems, KFS, ARES, BPM, ELF, STARS, Government research programs and requirements preferred.
