The Symposium on Fluids Science and Turbulence will be held in Baltimore on May 30 & 31, 2008. The symposium will celebrate our colleague Katepalli Sreenivasan's remarkable career in fluid dynamics research. This event is co-sponsored by the Burger's Program.

Keynote Lecturer: Professor Charles Meneveau
The Burgers Program was inaugurated on November 18, 2004 with the first of its annual Burgers Symposia. Highlights of the day-long event were the remarks by Gijs Ooms, the Scientific Director of the J.M. Burgers Centrum (JMBC) in the Netherlands on "Life and work of J.M. Burgers in the Netherlands," remarks by Jan Sengers on "The Legacy of J.M. Burgers at Maryland" and the Burgers Keynote Lecture on the "Dynamics of Turbulent Shear Flows" by Bruno Eckhardt of the Philipps Universität, Marburg.
