Bio: Ali received his Bachelor's in Physics from Sharif University of Technology, in Iran, where he conducted research, in Professor Reza Ejtehadi's group, on applying reinforcement learning to a model of a micro-swimmer in low-Reynolds-number environments.
At UMD, his research in the Weitz Lab is on phage therapy and theoretical/computational models of viral ecology and evolution.
In his free time, he likes to watch movies, play table tennis, and explore new places.
