Applied Mathematics and Scientific Computation | Institute for Physical Science and Technology | University of Maryland

The research objective of the applied mathematics and scientific computation group is the cross-fertilization of research activity that lies at the interface between different scientific fields utilizing scientific computation and mathematical modeling. Recent examples of such fields include weather forecasting based on multi-scale modeling/simulations of atmosphere-ocean interactions, modeling of nanostructures, protein folding and turbulence, transport in fluids and plasma, and plasmonics.
