Bio: Jake received his Bachelor's in Physics from Georgia Tech where after graduating he also served as a research technician for a year before joining the Biophysics PhD program at UMD. His current project in the Losert Lab focuses on studying the energetics of computation in real, biological neural networks (and even in hybrid/cyborg computers!). Lately he spends his time slowly buying more books than he can read and more plants than he can take care of. He loves science fiction in all it forms and even hopes to write some of his own.
