Raj Roy Awarded Office of Naval Research Grant

Professor Raj Roy (IPST/Physics/IREAP) plans to use optoelectronic devices to make networks of dynamical nodes coupled together to exchange signals.  The idea is that they can (i) use such networks to perform computations and process information and (ii) also use them as a test bed for machine learning methods to discover the links of an unknown network (link inference problem) from time series measured from the nodes of the network.  Office of Naval Research, $300,000, “Symmetries, Synchronization and Information Processing with Dynamical Networks”.
