Tadmor elected Fellow of SIAM
Distinguished University Professor Eitan Tadmor (IPST/Mathematics) is one of 28 newly elected Fellows of the Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics (SIAM). Tadmor was nominated for “....original, broad, and fundamental contributions to applied and computational mathematics, including conservation laws, kinetics, image processing, and social dynamics.”
The SIAM Fellows program recognizes members who were nominated for their exemplary research as well as outstanding service to the community. Through their contributions, SIAM Fellows help advance the fields of applied mathematics and computational science.
Tadmor joined the University of Maryland in 2002 as Director of the Center for Scientific Computation and Mathematical Modeling. He held that position until 2016. He was recognized by the University as a Distinguished University Professor in 2005.
